OSTEOPATHY… WHAT IS IT?

A blending of both science & art . . . If you could imagine what the offspring of physiotherapy, chiropractic, and massage therapy looked and felt like, then you could begin to understand what Osteopathic Manual Therapists (OMTPs) do. Osteopathy is an emerging and growing field within the realm of manual therapy. It encompasses a very hands-on approach to treatment aimed at allowing the body to self-regulate and heal. This is achieved by finding restrictions within the structural framework of the body and restoring those stagnant areas to improve the body’s overall function. The results being an enhanced chemical interchange between all tissue elements starting from a cellular level and leading to improvements in circulation and drainage of arterial and venous blood, cerebrospinal fluid, and lymph, improved joint mobility, and enhanced nervous system function.
